Promoting the nutritional power of eggs across communities
On October 10, 2025, Livestock Industry Foundation for Africa (LIFA) proudly joined the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) and other stakeholders in commemorating World Egg Day a global event dedicated to raising awareness about the incredible benefits of eggs as an affordable and nutritious source of protein.
The celebration took place across various locations in Nigeria, where LIFA team members actively engaged with the public through educational campaigns, outreach programs, and interactive discussions. The central message of the day was simple yet powerful: “An Egg a Day for Healthy Living.”

During the event, LIFA members and PAN representatives visited marketplaces, schools, hospital and public areas to educate people about the vital role of eggs in improving nutrition, especially among children, pregnant women, and the elderly. They emphasized how eggs contribute essential nutrients that support brain development, muscle strength, and overall body wellness.

To make the day even more impactful, crates of eggs were distributed to members of the public. Passersby and community residents were delighted to receive eggs, symbolizing the importance of making this nutritious food a part of daily diets. LIFA also contributed significantly to this effort by supporting the distribution exercise and engaging with local communities to spread the message of nutrition, health, and sustainable poultry production.

This year’s celebration not only reinforced the nutritional value of eggs but also highlighted the collaborative spirit of the livestock sector in Nigeria. Through its continued partnership with PAN and other organizations, LIFA remains committed to promoting food security, empowering farmers, and advancing agricultural education across Africa.
